Graduated Cylinder (Probeta) Used to measure the volume of a liquids, chemicals or solutions during the lab daily work. They are more precise and accurate than the common laboratory flasks and beakers.
Erlenmeyer Flask (Erlenmeyer) Its conical base and cylindrical neck allows to be used for heating purposes in a laboratory, and allows to shake or stir the flask without spilling liquid. Its uses resume in holding and measuring chemical liquid samples; to mix, heat and boil chemicals.
Glass Stirring Rod (Varilla de agitación) Used to stir and mix chemicals, liquids and solids. Helps decanting supernatants It also gives more control over the rate of flow, which is important in cases where chemicals may react violently. To induce crystallization in a recrystallization procedure
Beaker (Beaker) Used to hold, mix, and heat reagents.
Test Tube (Tubo de Ensayo) Used to hold, mix, and heat chemical experiments; used as homes for microorganisms in purpose to culture (grow) them; collection devices for things like blood samples.
Test Tube Rack (Gradilla) Used to hold upright multiple test tubes when various solutions are needed to work with simultaneously, for safety reasons, for safe storage of test tubes, and to ease the transport of multiple tubes.
Triple Beam Balance (Balanza de triple brazo) Used to measure mass very precisely: directly from the objects, by difference for liquid, and measure out substances.
Funnel (Embudo) Used to direct liquids into containers that have small openings, to filter materials, often with the addition of a sieve or filter paper.
Florence Flask (Frasco de Florencia) Used as a container to hold liquids designed for uniform heating, boiling, distillation and ease of swirling.
Pipet (Pipeta) Laboratory tool used to transport a measured volume of liquid.
Buret (Bureta) It is used in quantitative chemical analysis to measure the volume of a liquid or a gas.
Beaker Tongs (Pinzas de Beaker) Used for carrying beakers, evaporating dishes or flasks after they have been subjected to heat and/or cold temperatures.
Goggles (Lentes de protección) Form of protective eyewear to prevent particulates, water or chemicals from striking the eyes.
Ring Stand (Soporte universal) Used to hold or clamp laboratory glassware and other equipment in place, so it does not fall down or come apart.
Bunsen Burner (Mechero Bunsen) Gas burner used in laboratory equipment produces a single open gas flame, used for heating, sterilization, and combustion.
Ring Clamp (Anillo de soporte universal) Used to hold separatory funnels, and can be used to secure funnels when filtering or pouring liquids into narrow joints.
Test Tube Holder (Pinza para tubo de ensayo) Used to hold test tubes when the tube is hot or should not be touched.
Watch Glass (Vidrio de reloj) Used to evaporate liquids and cover beakers during sample preparation. Also, to hold solids during weighing.
Litmus Paper (Papel tornasol) Used to test whether a substance is an acid or base. When a substance is dissolved in water, the resulting solution causes the litmus paper to change color. The acidity or alkalinity of a solution is determined by the concentration of hydrogen ions, or power of hydrogen, expressed as a pH value.
pH Paper (Papel pH) Used to determine if a solution is very acidic, mildly acidic, neutral, mildly alkaline, or very alkaline.
Striker (Chispero) Used to start Bunsen burners, it avoids burning your fingers because of its size.
Wire Gauze (Rejilla) Supporting equipment it difuses the heat to protect the glassware because it cannot be heated directly with the flame of a Bunsen burner.
