Frage Antworten
What are Red Blood cells? They are cells that carry oxygen and carbon dioxide. They do not contain a nucleus and can therefore reshape. Contains Haemoglobin.
What are White Blood Cells? Cells that are part of the Immune System, and fight of any foreign diseases. They are made in the Bone Marrow and contain a Nucleus.
What are Platelets? They are tiny bits of large Bone Marrow cells. They clump together to clot blood as to stop blood loss when skin is cut. They prevent microorganisms from entering body.
What is Plasma? Plasma contains Carbon Dioxide, Glucose, Proteins, Vitamins, Hormones, Amino Acids and liquid gel. The also clot blood.
Red Blood Cells Erthrocytes
White Blood Cells Leucocytes
Parts of the Circulatory System? Heart, Veins, Arteries, Capillaries (Plus- Blood (Red Blood Cells (Erythrocytes), White Blood Cells (Leucocytes), Plasma and Platelets)
Parts of the Respiratory System? Nose (Nasal Cavity), Mouth, Larynx (Voicebox) Pharynx, Trachea (Wind Pipe) and Lungs.
What Blood Vessels take blood away from the Heart? Name the main two. Arteries. They are: Pulmonary Artery and Aorta.
What Blood Vessels take blood into the Heart? Name the main two. Veins. They are: The Superior Vena Cava and the Inferior Vena Cava.
What are the tiny network of Vessels connecting the Veins and Arteries called? What do they do? Capillaries. They swap carbon dioxide and oxygen with the Alveoli and vice-versa. They also carry nutrients.
What is the connection between the liver and circulatory system? The liver filters blood, and blood is apart of the Circulatory System.
Explain the gas exchange process in the lungs. The oxygen is breathed in through the mouth or nose, and travels through the trachea and through the bronchi and bronchioles until it is in the alveoli. It is then taken to the heart by the a veins and transfused with blood. It then travels by the blood stream. And Carbon Dioxide leaves the lungs when we exhale.
