-I have 2 problems about Anna and Danny. Anna is the young mother of Danny, an elementary-age child diagnosed with celiac disease. You have to educate Anna about what celiac disease is and why she needs to have her son avoid gluten. You also need to give her information of pharmacologic therapy and dietary changes.

I'm gonna have a couple questions about Bill. Bill is a 65 year old male who has BPH. His prostate is moderately enlarged, and he's having ever increasing troubles with urinary retention. He's first going to ask you about pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies for his BPH. When that doesn't work, he asks you about the surgical interventions. You will provide education, pre-op, and post-op care for Bill in his series of problems.

I didn't like any of the other quizzes I saw, so I made one specifically for my class, right out of my textbook. I tried with the NCLEX style questions, but they probably aren't very good.

The patient that I use in here a decent amount is an elderly, white female with osteoporosis. I have named her Ella. You start out by giving her family instruction about how to prevent hip fractures. When they do not listen to your instruction (as patients and their families will often do), Ella falls and breaks her hip. You give Ella instruction on her potential treatment options, then you provide her pre-op and post-op care and discharge instruction.

The fake patient I've used in this exemplar is a 44 year old osteoarthritis patient who works as an attorney and is married with 2 young children. The osteoarthritis is in his left knee. He is slightly overweight (10 pounds at most), but he keeps himself in very good health. He first approaches you wanting to know what this disorder could entail, then he asks about potential treatments. You give him teaching about nonpharmacological treatments, then send him on his way.
