However, educational technology is not just for students; teachers can also benefit greatly from the use of new technologies. So this week we’ve scoured the net looking for the top 10 apps for teachers.
10 Apps for Teachers
App #1: Too Noisy
Do you think the hum of student chatter is too high when working in class? Too Noisy helps you control the background noise that exists in your classroom using visuals and in real-time. You set the appropriate level of noise and if your class rise above this level, an alarm will sound. Quiet please!
App #2: Remind101
Remind101 is a free app designed specifically for teachers. Using this popular app, teachers can send notices and announcements to parents and students. This is nothing new but the real benefit of Remind101 is that teachers do not need to reveal their phone number or any other personal information to communicate with parents or students. Similarly, teachers do not have access personal details of the recipients. The emphasis on privacy is a real strength of Remind101.
App #3: ClassDojo
ClassDojo is a classroom tool that helps teachers improve behavior in their classrooms quickly and easily. It also captures and generates data on behavior that teachers can share with parents and administrators. You can give feedback, encouragement and view data and reports on your students behavior using the app.
App #4: GradeBook Pro
GradeBook Pro is one of the most comprehensive apps to help you manage your class. It allows you to monitor attendance but you can also add all kinds of annotations on your students to allow you to record the evolution of your students’ performances throughout the course. GradeBook may be the best ally for your memory, unfortunately it’s not free.
App #5: Teacher’s Assistant Pro 2
Teacher’s Assistant Pro 2 is great alternative to the previous app. It offers a multitude of functions to manage your class. Among the most interesting is the possibility to follow the evolution of a student’s behavior. You can also store student’s personal information such as address, siblings and even if they have allergies. These features can greatly facilitate generating feedback reports to students’ parents.
App #6: Educreations
Educreations transforms your iPad into a digital whiteboard, giving you a space to draw plus you can share all your creations with your students in real-time. Also, if you prefer, you can add audio to your creations and use them as teaching tools. Say goodbye to chalk!
App #7: Podcast
Podcast is an app that allows access to thousands of podcasts (audio recordings). With Podcast you can create your own station to upload your audio lessons which you think are appropriate for your students to download. The great things about Podcasts is that students can listen to them whenever they want, as many times as they want and at their own pace.

App #8: TED
Need inspiration for your next class? TED is your answer. TED presents talks from some of the world’s most fascinating people on all kinds of subjects. All these conferences are available for free on the app. You never know, you could be the next speaker to give a talk at TED!
App #9: Math Formulas
Yes, we know, it can be very difficult to retain all the different formulas. But no need to panic! With Math Formulas you have a collection of hundreds of mathematical formulas from algebra to matrices, trigonometry to geometry at your disposal.

We have saved the most important for last! ExamTime is a meeting place between teachers and students in which you can share study resources, work on group projects and initiate discussion threads and debates.
