| Question | Answer |
| cell membrane | separates the inside of the cell from the rest of the world (a.k.a. cytoplasmic membrane or plasma membrane) |
| cell wall | a stiff layer found in plant cells, outside the cell membrane (green in diagram at left) |
| chloroplasts | organelles found in plants that contain chlorophyll (which produces energy from sunlight) |
| chromoplasts | organelles that make and store pigments (they are what makes that flower so pretty) |
| chromosomes | DNA, after it has been organized (think of a completed puzzle, rather than a box of pieces) |
| cilia | little wiggly things on the outside of the cell membrane that let the cell move or feel |
| cytoplasm | the jelly inside the cell-y. |

part of the cytoskeleton, gives the cell structure and lets things move around the cell

| nuclear membrane | a lipid membrane around the outside of the nucleus it contains the nucleolus and the cell's genetic material |
| nucleolus | made of proteins and RNA, it transcribes RNA and starts making ribosomes (nucleolus is the dark part) |

the "control center" of the cell, it's where the DNA is stored
