We Evaluate: Performance Skills 1. Motor - ROM, strength, fine motor skills, bilateral skills, coordination, & balance 2. Process - sensory/cognitive skills such as attention, memory, judgment, etc. 3. Social Interaction Skills - appropriate w/others, body language, emotions, etc.
Treatment Intervention: Based on "Clinical Reasoning" 1. Required skills, multiple demands, & significance to client 2. Understand interrelationship between domains & how impede/support client 3. How domains support client centered focus 4. Takes into consideration Modes & Theory that guide OT practice
Definition of Occupational Therapy: Practice Framework "The therapeutic use of everyday life activities (occupations) with individuals or groups for the purpose of enhancing or enabling participation in roles, habits, and routines in home, school, workplace, community, and other settings..."
