Improper Fraction Fraction where the top number (numerator) is greater than or equal to the bottom number (denominator)
Proper Fraction Fraction where the top number (numerator) is less than the bottom number (denominator)
Mixed Numbers Where we have a whole number and a fraction
Equivalent Fraction Equivalent Fractions are different fractions that are actually the same amount
Numerator The number on the top of a fraction
Denominator The number on the bottom of a fraction
Simplifying a fraction Divide the top and bottom of the fraction by the largest number they both divide by
Multiply a fraction Multiply the numerators and denominators together
Divide a fraction Turn the second fraction upside down and multiply them
Add or subtract a fraction Find equivalent fractions for both with a common denominator Then add or subtract the numerators
