Question Answer
Define Metallic Bonding Metallic bonding is the electrostatic attraction between the positively charged atomic nuclei of metal atoms and the delocalised electrons in the metal.
What do the 'sea' of electrons allow and why? The sea of electrons allow conduction of electricity due to them being free to move and therefore they are able to carry the electricity through.
Draw a simple diagram of metallic bonding. In layers with a 'sea' of electrons.
"It is possible to be able to tell where an electron originated form" True or False? False- A delocalised electron in a 'sea' of electrons is shared and unable to be tracked.
