Perfect Cadence V - I Five to One Sound completed.
Imperfect Cadence ? - V Anything to Five Sounds like wants to repeat.
Plagal Cadence IV - I Four to One Sounds church like, closer together than Perfect.
Interrupted V - VI Five to Six Goes to minor, sounds wrong.
Acciacatura Quick grace note, does not lean.
Appoggiatura Slower grace note, leans on the beat. Think of Gr. 7 Violin A1 piece.
Unison All parts sing in unison. If male voices, may be singing down octave so watch out for octaves.
Homophonic Sounding together. Everything played at same time with chords.
Polyphonic or Contrapuntal Many lines of music weaving in between each other.
Fugue Solo instrument plays tune. Then Tune is passed around other instruments.
A cappella Without accompaniment of instruments. Just voices.
Call and response Solo instrument plays a tune (Question) then other instruments answer it.
Melody and accompaniment One voice plays melody and is accompanied by rest of another.
