what is an electric circuit a path through which charge can flow
what is a battery? a device that maintains a certain potential difference (P.D) between its terminals
and what is a terminal then? they are points at which charge can enter or leave a battery
positive (+ve) terminals have a higher potential difference labelled as '+' often called the positive terminal
negative (-ve) terminal have a lower potential difference labelled as '-' often called the negative terminal
