| Question | Answer |
| Cell wall | Made of cellulose. Supports the cell. |
| Chloroplasts | Found in the green parts of a plant. Contain chlorophyll, which absorbs light energy and makes food by photosynthesis. |
| Permanent vacuole | Space in the cytoplasm filled with cell sap. Keeps the cells rigid and supports the plant. |
| Cell membrane | Lets substances such as glucose and mineral ions into the cell and lets substances like urea and hormones out. |
| Ribosomes | Where protein synthesis takes place. |
| Mitochondria | These use oxygen and release energy during respiration. |
| Nucleus | The control centre of the cell. It controls the cell's activities and contains genes on the chromosomes, which carry instructions for creating the proteins required to create more cells. |
