What is an input device? | An input device is a device that accepts data and sends it to the computer. The device has to convert the data into a binary form (1's and 0's) in order for it to be in the right format for the computer to accept. |
Manual input | Small amounts of data that are put in by hand (e.g. keyboard, mouse, controller, digital camera.) |
Direct input | Large amounts of data that are automatically put in without a human operator (e.g. chip and pin devices, sensors, barcode readers.) |
