4 figure grid reference A way on the map to find out about where something is with 4 numbers. Similar to co-ordinates.
Area The space inside a 2D shape made by multiplying the width and length.
Volume The space inside a 3D shape made by multiplying the length, width and height.
6 figure grid reference A way to work out where something is but more accurate than 4 figure grid reference. Able to pinpoint something to 100m.
to infer To make a logical guess based on the evidence that you have. Historians and scientist usually use this technique.
BIDMAS A mathematical way to work out a problem that has more than 1 operation. Stands for Brackets, Indices, Division and Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.
fire (scientific explanation) Fire is a combination of Oxygen, Fuel and Flame. If one of these things is cut off there cannot be a fire.
air (scientific explanation) Air is a mixture of Nitrogen (the gas used in paintball guns), Oxygen (we breathe it to stay alive), Methane (gas released from excrement) and other various gas.
