Why do plants need to respire? | The release of energy helps them convert the rest of the glucose into other useful substances, which they use to build new cells and grow |
How do plants use glucose to make a cell wall? | Glucose is converted into cellulose for making strong cell walls, especially in a fast growing plant |
How do plants use glucose to make proteins? | Glucose is combined with nitrates to make amino acids which are then made into proteins |
