1. What is the role of a predator? The role of a predator is to hunt another organism for survival.
2. What is the term for an animal being hunted and eaten? A prey is an animal that gets hunted by the predator.
3. Why must two animals compete? if two animals eat the same food and live in the same habitat, they have no other options, so they have to compete for food and survival. They are known as competitors.
4. What is a food chain? A food chain is basically animals relying on each other for their survival and for their energy.
5. What is the difference between a food chain and a food web? A food chain is a more simple way of explaining how animals rely on each other, but a food web is a more complex version.
6. What is chlorophyll enable plants to do? Chlorophyll allows plants to trap the suns energy in their leaves.
7. What can photosynthesis enable plants to do? Photosynthesis is the process of using energy to convert water and carbon dioxide into glucose and oxygen.
8. What is a producer? A producer is an organism that can produce it own food like plants can.
9. What is a consumer? A consumer is an animal which cannot make its own food so it (consumes) eats another animal for nutrients and energy.
10. What are decomposers? Decompsers are living organisms (bacteria) that break don the remains of dead plants and animals.
