Pure Substances | Something that is made up of only one substance. |
Mixed Substance | Is not made up of one but two pure substances, they can be returned to two pure substances. |
Soluble | Able to be dissolved. |
Insoluble | Incapable of being dissolved. |
Solvent | Able to dissolve other substances. |
Solute | The minor component in a solution, dissolved in the solvent. |
Solution | A liquid mixture in which the minor component (the solute) is uniformly distributed within the major component (the solvent). |
Concentrated | Means their is a lot of solute dissolved in the solvent making it concentrated. |
Dilute | Make (a liquid) thinner or weaker by adding water or another solvent to it. |
Suspension | A mixture where the substances have not dissolved but dispersed. |
Erosion | The gradual destruction or diminution of something caused by: wind, water, or other natural agents. |
Weathering | Wear away or change the appearance or texture of (something) by long exposure to the atmosphere. |
