Pure Substances Something that is made up of only one substance.
Mixed Substance Is not made up of one but two pure substances, they can be returned to two pure substances.
Soluble Able to be dissolved.
Insoluble Incapable of being dissolved.
Solvent Able to dissolve other substances.
Solute The minor component in a solution, dissolved in the solvent.
Solution A liquid mixture in which the minor component (the solute) is uniformly distributed within the major component (the solvent).
Concentrated Means their is a lot of solute dissolved in the solvent making it concentrated.
Dilute Make (a liquid) thinner or weaker by adding water or another solvent to it.
Suspension A mixture where the substances have not dissolved but dispersed.
Erosion The gradual destruction or diminution of something caused by: wind, water, or other natural agents.
Weathering Wear away or change the appearance or texture of (something) by long exposure to the atmosphere.
