How is wind power used to generate electricity? → the wind turbine is a generator on top of a narrow tower. → The force of the wind drives the blades around
advantages of wind turbines → No harmful gases/ green house gases → Renewable, so it will never run out → can be used in rural areas to supply energy to isolated places
disadvantages of wind turbines → Make a whiny, annoying noise → interferes with TV reception → considered "unsightly" → unreliable → takes up a lot of land because you need many of them to supply a sufficient amount of energy
