Non volative. When the computer is turned the data isn't deleted and the ROM stays on for the boot sequence
Boot sequence
POST
1) BIOS performs check
Power On Self-Test
2) Check peripheral devices
3) When check is complete it opens the operating system
1) ROM opens the boot sequence
2) The boot sequence sends a signal to the hard disk and starts the operating system
3) It turns on your computer
Virtual Memory
The RAM supports the computer to do temporary tasks, but the virtual memory supports the RAM. when its full things are sent to the virtual memory
