Thrusts
Starting in a push up position, feet shoulder

meets your elbow then return to start position.

Swim
Swim 50 meters in a pool without stopping,
touching the sides or bottom before getting
yourself out unaided.

Jump Off 3
Meter Board
A simulation of jumping off the side of a
boat at sea, jump feet first with your
fingertips on your shoulders.

Designed to assess cardiovascular and
muscular endurance while in a pool.
Tread Water
Treading water is necessary to keeping afloat at
sea. You must keep your head above the water
for the required time without touching the floor
or sides.

Training
After completing your PRNC you will be invited to HMS Raleigh in Torpoint,
Cornwall for your basic training. you undertake 10 weeks of training including a
number of physical tests.
In Service
The Royal Navy carries out an annual fitness test
that everyone is required to take part in to ensure
each serving personal can still meet requirements.
40KG Bag
Carry
Carry 2X20KG power bags between 4
shuttles over 15M, lowering the bags and
picking them back up every 15M

In the RAF you will take place in bi-annual
fitness tests (every 6 months) to measure
you physical ability. failing these
assessments could result in you being
discharged from the RAF.
Pre-Recruit Training Course
A 3 day course taking place at RAF Halton,
where you will be required to take place
in RAF fitness tests in order to progress
onto basic training.

you exit on.

MSFT Mullty Stage Fitness Test
Level 5.4
This element involves running to & fro along a 15 metre track to
a series of audible beeps. The beeps, during the course of the
test get progressively faster. You will need to have reached
each side of the track before the next beep sounds.
Dynamic Push and Pull test

The Dynamic push/pull, this test requires you to
push and pull an excise machine to your
maximum ability. Candidates have three
attempts to reach the standard. This is the
standard Pull 34KG and Push 35KG for entry.

Bleep Test/ MSFT
You need to run between two lines, 20m apart in time
with a beep. The beeps get steadily faster. Your score is
based on the point where you can no longer keep up.
Males need to reach level 10.2
Females need to reach level 8.1
Soldier Entry
The Power Bag Lift: Lift powerbags from the ground
onto a 1.45m platform. Start with 15 kg as a warm
up and increase by 5 kg to a maximum of 40 kg.

The Jerry Can Carry: Lift two full 20 litre jerry cans and carry them as far as
you can (up to 150 metres) at a walking pace.
1.5 Mile (2.4km) Run: Start with an 800m warm up at jogging pace and
then you will be timed running a further 1.5 miles (2.4 KM).
