          1. Nick meets an unknown man who tells him that he looks familiar. They talk about having both been in the war. Turns out, the mysterious man is the mysterious Gatsby.
            1. Nick gets an invitation from Gatsby to assist to one of Gatby's famous parties.

              1. Beautiful woman of the elite social class, in love with Gatsby.

                1. Sorprisingly rich, business man whose one desire is to be reunited with Daisy again. (He's in love with her).
                2. Chapter 2
                  1. Nick travels to the city with Tom, who insists on stopping to show Nick his mistress (Myrtle, the wife of an auto mechanic named George B. Wilson).
                    1. In the city, they arrive into an apartment and meet up with others, including a Mr. McKee and Myrtle's sister, Catherine. They drink a lot, and Nick gets drunk for the second time in his life.
                      1. Nick notice that Tom doesn't love Daisy, and Myrtle doesn't love her husband neither.
                      2. Chapter 1
                        1. Tom's father advice: "Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone, just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had".
                          1. Nick Carraway lives next to a huge mansion inhabited by a mysterious Mr. Gatsby. More on him later.
                            1. Nick got dinner with his cousin, Daisy. When he gets back home, he notice that Gatsby is staring at a strange green light.
