  1. RAM stands for random access memory
    1. RAM is a fast temporary memory that holds open applications and data.
      1. RAM is volatile.
        1. Things which are stored in RAM are: open programs, applications, data currently being used.
          1. You can change what is stored in the RAM by editing or changing the program you are on.
    2. ROM stands for read only memory
      1. ROM is memory which cannot be changed and stores instructions for the computer when it is turnt on.
        1. ROM is non-volatile.
          1. Things which are stored in ROM are: instructions for the computer to start etc.
            1. No you cannot change what is stored in ROM, as it starts the computer up etc.
      2. Volatile memory only keeps data as long as the power is on.
        1. Non-volatile keeps data even if there is a break in the power supply.
