Newtons Corpuscular Theory
- 1.Light Travels through medium In the form of Extremely small
particles called as corpusclesThis are emitted by a source of
light in all possible direction of a medium
- 2.The Corpuscules are perfectly elastic,
rigid and weighteless in nature
- 3.In a given mediu, the corpucles travel with constant
velocity along a straight line path.They travel with
different velociies in different media.
- 4.The Corpuscle can enter our eye and strike the retina.
Hence we get the sensation of light.
- 5.Different Colours of light are due to the different sizes
of corpuscles.
