                          2. Consequences
                            1. Nagy fled to the Yugoslavian embassy but was arrested as soon as he left by Soviets
                              1. The West was accused of 'abandoning' the Hungarians
                                1. Khrushchev's show of force worked to strengthen his control over Eastern Europe
