Types of assessment
  1. Assessment is a continuing process that takes place on classrooms.
    1. Teachers assess learners all the time by judging their performances intentionally and non-intentionally.
      1. Formative Assessment
        1. It's about evaluating students for their performances by giving correct feedback, so they can continue improving and forming their skills and abilities.
        2. Summative Assessment
          1. It is an assessment through tests with which the knowledge acquired by students is measured at the end of a lesson, unit or course to know their progress and whether they have met the learning objectives.
          2. Norm-referenced Assessment
            1. Test-takers receive a numerical score, and its percentage according to the performance of other test-takers when compared to mean, median and standard deviation. They are designed for a large audience that will pay for them.
            2. Criterion-referenced assessment
              1. It categorize test-takers in basic, proficient and advance. Also, they receive feedback about their performance, a grade that is not compared to the performance of other test-takers, but to an standard score.
              2. Diagnostic Assessment
                1. This type of test is applied to know certain aspects of language in the performance of learners by providing a categorization of the necessary information about them, such as stress, rhythm, intonation, etc.
