Systolic pressure - First reading - The maximum pressure the heart produces, when the heart contracts.
Diastolic pressure - Second reading - The blood pressure in between heart beats, whn the heart rests.
How blood pressure can be increased or decreased
Blood pressure can be increased by: Smoking, High Alcohol intake, overweight and stress.
Blood pressure can be decreased by regular exercise and eating a balanced diet
