    1. Peasant rebel, Zhu Yuanzhang, led an army to defeat the Mongols
      1. Named the Dynasty "Ming"

                2. Writers created the first detective stories

                    1. Fleets consisted of: 62 large ships and 200 smaller ones
                      1. Larger ships were 400 ft. long
                    2. Died in 1435
                      1. After death, emperor banned ships with more than 2 masts
                        1. Ships eventually fell into disrepair
                    3. Returning Chinese culture
                      1. Reestablishing Confucianism importance
                        1. Moved the capital to more Chinese influenced cities
                          1. First: Nanjing
                            1. Second: Beijing
                            2. Restarted the civil service exam
                              1. Became more "rigorous" than before
                                1. Created the "board of censors" to prevent corruption in the government
