Enforces law and Investigates crime

Most obvious type of social control and people debate about how effective Police force is as sometimes they discriminate
STYLES OF POLICING
Watchman
Maintaining order, usually found in working class, mixed identity areas, They may treat some groups different from others
Legalistic
Law enforcement and professionalism, usually in Socio-economic areas. They may treat different due to threat order
SERVICE
Protecting citizens form outsiders, Found in middle class areas where people demand individual treatments
