  1. Validation
    1. Aims to make sure that data is sensible, reasonable, complete and within acceptable boundaries.
      1. Can help reduce the number of errors it cannot stop them.
        1. Performed when the data is enterred into the cinema.
        2. Range check
          1. Range check is commonly used when using numerical data such as currency and dates.
            1. Allows you to set suitable boundaries.
            2. Type check
              1. Ensures that the correct type of data is enterred.
              2. Check Digit
                1. Used when you want to be sure that a range of numbers has been enterred correctly.
                2. Length check
                  1. Can make sure that the right amount of numbers are enterred.
                  2. Lookup
                    1. Creates a list of only the things you should be enterring.
                    2. Picture/Format check
                      1. Makes sure that a letter isnt enterred in a space where a number should be and vice versa.
                      2. Presence check
                        1. To make sure that something is filled in and not left blank.
                        2. Verificationn
                          1. To check that the data enterred on the original source is the same as the data that has been enterred into the system.
                            1. To make sure there is as few mistakes as possible.
