      1. Tybalt thought that Romeo came to the Capulet ball to "scorn at [their] solemnity." Tybalt decided to approach Romeo and make a scene but Lord Capulet forbid him. However, Tybalt remained true to his word when he challenged Romeo.
        1. Tybalt : "Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hast done me; therefore turn and draw."
          1. Romeo: "I do I never injur'd thee but love thee beter than thou canst devise"
        2. Juliet vs Lord Capulet
          1. He wants her to marry the County Paris for reasons of family prosperity and future allegiance rather than for love.

          2. Romeo vs his inner morals
            1. Romeo is having trouble deciding whether to be loyal to Mercutio, his best friend, or Juliet, the love of his life, when Tybalt challenges him.
