      1. Plankton are small algae and animals that float in water. Algae plankton include geometrically shaped diatoms. They include tiny fish , microscopic crustaceans, like copepods

          1. Nekton are animals that may swimm freely through the water colum. For ejample squid, most fishes and marine like whale areclassified as nekton.
            1. Benthos
              1. Benthos are oganisms that live in the ocean floor, animals like crabs, sea stars , octopuses , are classified as benthos.
