        1. Construction/Application

          2. Why use Authentic Assessments
            1. Not just showing what you know but showing you can use what you have learned
              1. Direct Demonstration of Knowledge and Understanding
                1. A process to apply what you have learned
                  1. Allows multiple opportunities to show what you know and how to get the "right" answer
                    1. Not just one right answer
                    2. Application: Allowing our students to show what they know is powerful for both the student and the educator. This gives the students real life application of using the knowledge they have been taught.
                    3. Traditional Assessments
                      1. Multiple Choice

                                1. Traditional Assessments and Authentic Assessments work really well when both used appropriately. There are times for both types of assessments and we have to judge appropriately.
