This conditional is used to express a true and likely future
outcome if a certain condition is met. In the above
example, although the condition is written in the present
tense is brought to assert condition in the future, and it is
important to note that it is very likely that this condition is
met as it is real, probably the sky was overcast and so this
person said that if it rains in the near future, this person
will stay home.
