Monotheistic Religion

• Christianity is a monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It is the world's largest religion, with over 2.4 billion followers, or 33% of the global population, known as Christians.

1. Jesus

   Annotations:

   •  Jesus of Nazareth or Jesus Christ is the founder of Christianity. 
2. Bible

   Annotations:

   • The Christian Bible has two sections, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is the original Hebrew Bible, the sacred scriptures of the Jewish faith, written at different times between about 1200 and 165 BC. The New Testament books were written by Christians in the first century AD.

      • The Old Testament is the first section of the Christian Bible, based on the Hebrew Bible, a collection of religious writings by the ancient Israelites, most christianity believes in it.

         • A gospel is an account describing the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.

            • The Gospel According to John is one of the four canonical gospels in the New Testament.
         2. Matthew

            Annotations:

            • The Gospel According to Matthew is the first book of the New Testament. The narrative tells how the Messiah, Jesus, rejected by Israel, finally sends the disciples to preach the gospel to the whole world
         3. Luke

            Annotations:

            • The Gospel According to Luke, commonly shortened to the Gospel of Luke or simply Luke, is the third and second longest of the four canonical Gospels. It tells of the origins, birth, ministry, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.
         4. Mark

            • According to the second book of the New Testament, is one of the four canonical gospels

• Judaism is an ancient monotheistic religion, with the Torah as its foundational text/ something that has the background information about the Judaism.

1. Solomon

   Annotations:

   • Solomon, also called Jedidiah, was, according to the Bible the son of the wealthy king David.
2. Abraham

   Annotations:

   • Abraham is being given a name "the father of hebrews." God told Abraham to move his family from Mesopotamia to Canaan.  
3. David

   Annotations:

   • David, according to the Hebrew Bible, was the second king of the united Kingdom of Israel and Judah, reigning in c. 1010–970 BCE. 
4. Moses

   Annotations:

   • Moses according to the Hebrew Bible, he was a former Egyptian prince who later in life became a religious leader
5. Holy Bible

   Annotations:

   • The Bible is a collection of sacred texts in Judaism and Christianity. It is a collection of scriptures written at different times by different authors in different locations. 
   1. Torah

      Annotations:

      • It is a stone tablet that includes the first five books of the Jewish Bible. 
   2. Old Testment

      Annotations:

      • Is the first section of the Christian Bible.
