Cleaning and Disinfection of Operating Rooms

ADVANTAGE
1. a good cleaning and disinfection in the operating room, prevents nosocomial infections
2. Sterilization is a basic strategy to prevent infection
3. Disinfection is necessary to prevent the proliferation of microorganisms and, consequently, possible diseases.
PERIODICITY
1. At the beginning of the working day (Cleaning and disinfection)
2. Between procedures (cleaning and disinfection must be done)
3. At the end of the work day (Terminal Cleaning)
4. Once a week (General Cleaning)
The patient unit (operating room, furniture) should be cleaned by the nurse.
1. Disinfection is carried out on clean objects and surfaces.
The cleaning unit of the patient (floors, walls, baseboards, windows, laundry, toilet) is the responsibility of the cleaning staff.
Disinfection should be supervised by each area.
