Waves
Sound Waves
Sound requires a medium to travel
Sound waves are mechanical waves meaning that something has to be done for them to be trasnferred
sound waves are constant and so they are always there and only change when something takes effect
Transverse waves
Types of Waves
Radio Waves
Smallest wave
Micro waves
Is the only wave to pass through the ionsphere without being confused with other waves.
Infrared radiation
Visible on hot objects
Visible light
Has 7 kinds in a spectrum
Ultra Voilet
Kills Bacteria
X-rays
Allows us to see bones
Gamma Rays
Very harmful
Properties of waves
they all travel at 300,000,000 m/s
Most of them need mediums to travel
they are all effected by refraction, reflection, defraction
The Doppler Effect
The further the waves are the less frequent the waves are
the more the object moves towards you the more frequent the waves are
if an object is moving towards you the object is blue
if an object is moving away from you the object is red
