1. Joh Steinbck was born in Selinas, California 1920. He was born into a rich family however he was always intrested in the labour workers. So worked with them.
2. Usining his experiance he used as materials for his wring. He wrote about poor people working including 'The grapes of warth', which is about a family trying to reach California.
3. Wining a Nobal prize in 1962 (Six years before his death). Many few were lucky to get jobs as tehy got fead however low paied.
4. 1930 One year after the wall street crash, American could no longer pay their rent or have enough to eat. Many people had to move or wither live in hooverviles (Houses made out of corugated ion and packing cases.
5. Chp. 1 Gorge and Lennie are camping before starting work in selinas. Then George saw Lennie with a dead rat and he was stroking it. We fins out about why they have lost their precious job as lennie stroked a womens dress.Then they talk about a dream they have of getting a place of land together when lennie can tend the rabits. This where you can see their solid relationship and can see hwo takes care of who.
6. CHP.2 They arrive to the ranch where canny shows the around. They meet the boss and then his son -Candy- Gorge then tells lennie to stay away from leenie as he is suspisious that he is a bad person. Curlys lovely wife come out andslim and carlson is introduced.
7. Chp. 3 George tells slim about what happened at weed and why they both travel together. Candys dog gets shot as an act of kindness from Carlos as the dog is ill and tired. Gorge also tells them about their dream and candy offers to join. Curley then pravokes lennie into a fight which ends up curlly getting hit in head.
8. Chp.4. go into town with Lennie and Crooks and candly left. Then Currleys wif is left an she enters the room flirting. Lennie tells croos what him and lennies dream is and he first dose not beelives it but candy convinces hi it will be a good idea and and crooks asks lennie can he be in rthe dream aswell. Curleys wife walks in and thretans crook then an argumant develpps and then crooks realises he will ever be good enough for their plan.
9. Chp. 5 Slim gives Lennie some puppies however he kills a puppie accidently. But petting it too much.. Lennie then becomes sad. Curley's wife then arrives and talks openly about her life and feelings. She invites him to stroke her hair and then he dose it but very hardly and then she starts screaming and he kills her.He runs away and hides where gorege tells him at the beggining of the story. Cnady finds the body tells gorge and the other men and then curyley seeks Revenge.
10. Chp. 6 Lennie hides behind the bush. He dreams of his ant chow he will tend the rabbits when he and gorge get Land. Gorge then finds him and talks about the dream. And then shoots him. The other men asume gorge shot him because of self defence. Only slim understands what gorge did and why.

12. Because of the events happening within a few days.it emphasies how dramatic it is. As one event follows from another which is why it is inevitability.which shows theirs no way out for lennie. It makes the drama more tence and exciting.
    1. They arrive at sunrise and Lennie dies at sun set. This shows that Lennies death was destiny and if he did not die it will upset the unbalance off destiny. It also shows because the hole story started their it was right for gorge to kill lennie their, in a memreable way
       1. Candy's dog dieing shows that a relationship has ended and hints that Gorge will kill lennie.
13. Gorge Miltion - Is a smaller person but is smarter and has a quick wit.
    1. Been a good friend to lennie as his ant gave him the responsibility of looking after him.
       1. He needs lennie because he dose not want to be alone but he also helps get jobs because of his big size. He threatens lennie because he get angry very quickly however he is proud of lennie.
       2. He shares the same dream to lennie. To own a peice of land and is prepared to work really hard to get the land.
       3. 'with us it ain't like that. We got a future. We got somebody to talk to that gives a damn about us. We don't have to sit in no bar room blowin' in our jack 'jus because we got no place else to go. If them other guys gets in jail they can rot for all anybody gives a damn. But not us.

       4. When he trusts people exsamples slim,he tells him that he used to play tricks on him and feels guilty for him nearly drowning.
14. Lennie samll - Is a big man in contrast to his name.
    1. With limited intelligence, he realises on Gorge to look after him. He copies gorge and trusts him.
       1. He likes soft things. at his old ranch (weed) he tried to feel a girls soft red dress. She thought he was going to attack her.
    2. His very forgetful. Gorge has to constantly remind him things.
15. Slim - is a jerkline skinner at the ranch. he is excellent at his job
    1. He is a natural leader at the ranch. Everyone looks up to him an respects his view.
    2. He understands gorge and lennies relationship. Hehelps gorge at the end reasuring that he did the right thing.
    3. We only know little about him which is why it keeps the mysyriousnes of him.
16. Curley - the bosses son, he dose not need to work for life.
    1. His small so he hates big people, which is why he hates lennie.
    2. He looks for opertuniteys to fight.
    3. He is newly married and very protective of his wife.however still visits brothvels
    4. Their is a rumor that he only wears a glove for his wife. his hand is filled with Vasaline to have an soft hand.
17. Curly's wife is a young pretty women who wears attractive cloths with curls.
    1. She is flirtation and always hanging out at the bunk-house.
    2. Theirs no other women to talk to an neither is her husband intrested in her.
    3. She dose not really love Curly, she only marrid him because she did not get a letter from hollywood. She tells Lennie. She is native.
18. Crooks - is a black man who is a buck.
