There are 4 different Types of Short Stories:

PLOT: Focused on events & actions that take place Usually stay away from presenting or developing deep characters & focus on what they do instead Escape fiction/ Action movies

CHARACTER: Focuses on people involved, how the react to situations they face & why Who they are, what/who they become, what motivates them

THEME: Centered around a central message. Message is strong & main reason story was written Note: THEME is NOT the story's subject/topic. Theme is what is suggested ABOUT the subject, topic or issue

SETTING: Affected by the setting more than by the characters. Character's actions & reactions are controlled by the circumstances If the setting was different the story would NOT be the same

Remember: Choose and Consider which elements are the most important.
