Job embeddednessTurnover is a function of perceived ease of movement and desirability of leaving ones job. Lee and Mitchell "unfolding model of voulantary turnover" people become stuck/embedded in their jobs due to various reasons. This embeddednes keeps a person from leaivng their job and included maritial status, community involvement and job tenure etc.2 mid level sub factors;1- on the job embededness (how E in org where they work)2- off the job embeddedness (how E in local community etc)represented by 3 underlying facets;1- links, (formal/informal) between person and institution location o other people2- fit, compatiilty with the work and non work environment3- sacrifice, which is the cost of material or psychological benefits that one may lose by leaving job/communityTraditional model of turnoverMobley multistage model of processes and intermediate linkages, dissatisfaction ... turnover. Also percieved alternatives, intentions to search, and quit intentions are four core aspects of voulntary turnover.Implications of Crossley et alorganisational factors more important to people when assessing attachment. Though high correlation with community embeddedness shows importance of non work in attachment.Job emdeddedness significantly predicted volountary turnover, job satisfaction, perceived alternatives and organisational commitment, giving additional evidence and predictive validity (x2 - LISREL)
