animal cells 3 main structures: cell membrane, nucleus, cytoplasm organelle- describe the things in a cell specialised cellsceliated cell- these cells have tiny hairs called Celia. they prevent lung damage. the hairs sweep mucus with trapped dust and bacteria back up the throat so you can swallow it. if you smoke the hairs die.root hair cell- have a large surface area to absorb lots of water. they are the only plant cells that doesn't contain chloroplasts and chlorophyll because they are underground. their job is to absorb water and minerals from the soil.red blood cell- has a large surface area so that lots of oxygen can be picked and carried around the body. has NO nucleus.Sperm cell- has a long tail so they can swim to find the egg. has enzymes in the head so they can get into the egg. they made in the testes of males. they have to carry around the fathers dna genetic information to the egg.plant cell- they are found on top of a leaf. they are tall and have a large surface area to catch as much sunlight as possible. packed with chloroplasts to absorb sunlight. their job is to carry out photosynthesis.Egg cell. contains yoke that acts as a food source for the developing embryo. much larger that other animals cells , function is to carry the mothers dna/ genetic info
