Activation Energy (Ea) - Minimum amount of energy particles must have to react.

When particles react, they must have the right geometry for a reaction to occur.

Reacting particles must collide with: enough energy    and the right geometry  to be a successful collision

In terms of collisions, the two ways that a rate can be increased are: Increase the frequency of collisions Increase the (kinetic) energy of the collisions

Increasing Concentration

As we increase the concentration, there are more particles in the same volume so there is a greater frequency of collisions.

Increasing Gas Pressure
