Tool to aid manual testing efforts.Integrates with HP ALM - test created in one will be accessible in the other. Test runs from Sprinter will be available in ALM.Major features of the tool: 1. Macros - record and playback. Very easy to create, simply click record while testing. Then use the macro (it is a collection on user actions) from any test run that is associated with the same application. Great for automating repetitive steps while testing. Drawbacks - does not seem to have a speed setting, often will fail in the middle (as a false positive) just because does not find an element on page. Any changes to the page will make the macro unusable. Just create a new one.2. Capture steps while planning a test. In Planning module of sprinter, create new test, associate an app and click capture steps. Then each user action will be written down as a step. Expected results are not written down, however it is possible to take screen shots after each user action that will be added to the steps.3. Exploratory testingCreate a test with no steps and add to test lab sub-module in ALM. Open the test from run module of Sprinter and conduct exploratory test. Once finished (click stop) storyboard (all user actions and corresponding screen-shots) can be exported into a word or pdf document. User actions can be used to generate a reusable test with steps.4. Data injectionPrepare a document with form field names (labels really) and values that you want to insert. Then inject the prepared set of values into a form during execution. 5. ScannersDuring run various scanners can be enabled to check spelling, accessibility, and broken links.
