Devious and Conspiratorial: Stalin had organised Lenin's funeral. Trotsky didn't attend; he had been recovering from malaria in the warm south , and Stalin deliberately told him the wrong date so he arrived late. This made Stalin appear more dedicated to the memory of Lenin than Trotsky. Lenin's wife wanted his testament published however Stalin persuaded the party's Central Committee not to do so.This was an obvious advantage to Stalin who was heavily criticised in it. Stalin would add himself (photoshop) to photographs of Lenin so he could appear closer to him than he actually was in reality. Banished Trotsky, as he was seen as a threat towards him. Trotsky moved to Mexico and continued to write in opposition to Stalin's polices in the 1930s in the USSR. Stalin sent secret agents to Trotsky's home in Mexico and had him assassinated.
