Nebula spins fast, bulges out, and due to the conservation law, the velocity got decreased eventually.

[The spinning plate-like nebula is called an "accretion disk" or a "planetary disk"]

[The bulged part is forming the protostar]

[Some of the matters in the disk will accrete and form planetesimals [becoming planets]

DId the plane of the ecliptic form by coincidence? Why?

ANS: NO! It forms when the nebula spins, so everything that splits out to form themselves is on the same plane.

Would you expect other solar systems to have an ecliptic plane? Why?

ANS: YES! Because every nebula that spins as same as ours would form their own ecliptic plane too.
