The girl combed her hair, frowned in the mirror, and smoothed it out again. Split ends stuck out on all sides, and she nearly threw her hairbrush across the room.
The sunlight filtered her hair; he spotted golden strands among the brown. His cheeks turned pink when she looked at him.
He rubbed his hands together, laughed, and pulled the lever.
He rushed into the desert rest area, diving for the water fountain. His throat sighed in relief.
She frowned at the Christmas decorations while gathering twenty bags of Snickers.
Her eyes flittered between her text messages and the wheel, ignoring her best friend's shouts.
His hands and heart warmed around the sixth pumpkin spice latte of the day.
"No offence, sir, but you are wrong."
"It's totally normal," he murmured, eyes trained on the floor.
The Duke and Duchess paused to look over the burning towns. The yelling resumed.
