Sikkim-The traditional pattern of weaving requires a frame loom. The exclusive manner of weaving, by the hard-working artisans of Sikkim, appears in the designs of striking carpets. The wood carving in Sikkim is symbolic of the true art of India.
Punjab-Phulkari, which literally translates into ‘flower work’, has a history etched in the culture of Punjab. embroidery is patterned on odhini (head scarfs), dupattas, shawls, kurtis, sarees. Phulkari work has spread its fabric from Odinis to full-length suits & sarees.
Uttar Pradesh-The technique of creation of a chikan work is known as chikankari (चिकनकारी چکن کاری). Chikan is a delicate and artfully done hand embroidery on a variety of textile fabric like muslin, silk, chiffon, organza, net, etc. White thread is embroidered on cool, pastel shades of light muslin and cotton garments.
