The Past Tense is used to talk about something that started and finished at a definite time in the past.
The past form of regular verbs ends in – d or ed.
Rule 2.
If a verb ends in a consonant and y, change -y to -i and add -ed. –> study – studied.
Rule 4.
If the verb has one syllable and ends in a consonant + vowel + a consonant, double the final consonant and add –ed –> stop – stopped.
