Prokaryotic Transcription & Translation

Question 1 of 2

1

Select from the dropdown lists to complete the text.

Initiation of transcription
The ( core RNA polymerase, core DNA polymerase, TATA box ) binds to the ( sigma factor, theta factor, delta factor ) to produce the RNA polymerase ( holoenzyme, complex ). Then this binds to the ( promoter, operator ). Then a transcription bubble is formed. Next there is the creation of bonds between rNTPs. Finally there is an escape from transcription apparatus from promoter.

Question 2 of 2

Select from the dropdown lists to complete the text.

Initiation of translation
( Small, Large ) subunit binds to ( Shine-Dalgarno, Kozak ) sequence with the help
of ( IF3, IF2, IF1 )
Then ( fMet-tRNA, tRNA, fMet-mRNA ) binds to initiation codon with the help of IF1, IF2 and
( GTP, ATP )
This is called the ( 30s, 40s, 50s ) initiation complex
Then IFs are removed and ( large, small ) subunit is added
This is called the ( 70s, 80s ) initiation complex
In summary the ribosome has been assembled on the
mRNA and the first tRNA is attached to the initiation codon
