Expand: 3(x + 2)
The "3" on the outside must multiply both terms inside the brackets.
Expand: (x + 5)x
Even though the brackets appear first, you still multiply the outside "x" with both terms inside the brackets.
Expand: x(x - y)
The "x" on the outside must multiply both terms inside the brackets.
Expand: -3a²(3 - b)
Both terms inside the brackets must be multiplied by "-3a²"
