Blood is the only organ of the body that exists as a liquid.

[blank_start]Capillaries'[blank_end] walls are only [blank_start]one[blank_end] cell thick to allow [blank_start]dissolved materials[blank_end] to pass through. [blank_start]Veins[blank_end] carry blood back to the [blank_start]heart[blank_end].

When you [blank_start]bump[blank_end] yourself hard, some of the tiny [blank_start]capillaries[blank_end] near the skin [blank_start]burst[blank_end] and the [blank_start]blood[blank_end] leaks out into the surrounding [blank_start]tissue[blank_end].

Your [blank_start]heart[blank_end] is about the size of your [blank_start]fist[blank_end] and is situated in the [blank_start]middle[blank_end] of your chest behind the [blank_start]breastbone[blank_end]. The heart is made of a special type of muscle called [blank_start]cardiac muscle[blank_end]. Cardiac muscle does not get [blank_start]tired[blank_end] like the muscles of your [blank_start]legs[blank_end] and [blank_start]arms[blank_end] do.
