GENETICS looks at the way characteristics, or traits, are passed from one generation to the next.
INHERETED CHARACTERISTICS are due to genes and include eye colour, hair colour, shape of nose, etc.
In this investigation you will compare your physical characteristics with your parents. Follow these steps:
1. Draw a family tree on A3 paper. Include the parents, sibblings and the grandparents.
2. Stick photos of each family member onto the family tree.
3. Look at the characteristics that your family members share with you (eye colour, hair colour, height). Who do you look like most?
4. Complete the survey to investigate your inhereted traits.
